BEAUTIFUL SONG
I wanted to share the lyrics from a song our very good friend, Kelli Couch, wrote for their daughter, Elliette, who they adopted 6 months ago.
THE PRICE WAS PAID
My child how I've longed to hold you in my arms
To finally say that you're mine all mine
You can't know how much you've lived in my heart
No matter the cost
I had to find a way to bring you home
There's no distance too far
No road so long that I would not travel
No price I wouldn't pay
To look in your eyes; see you smile
Put your hand in mine
No, you don't have to be afraid
You're not alone anymore
The price was paid
For so long you've been livin' your life on your own
No one to care, no one to share
Your hopes and your fears
Don't you know
That my hearts always been there with you
Just close your eyes my sweet child
Imagine me with you,
I'm right there with you!
There's no distance too far....
I can't help but think of the price that was paid for each one of us to be adopted by our Heavenly Father. Gracie has been in our hearts for over a year now and after today will officially no longer be considered an orphan but our daughter. But the cost, the paperwork, planning, preparing, fundraising, and sacrificing that we've gone through could never come close to compare with the price that was paid by Jesus for each one of us to be called His children. We are in awe of the heights and depths to which He has gone and still goes daily because of how much He loves us! We are missing meeting together with all of you in worship service today but "church" today for us is going to be very hands on!
James 1:27 says "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans..."
We will post pictures of Gracie as soon as we can!
